The famed «Ritual Fire Dance» (Danza ritual del fuego) is a movement from de Falla’s ballet «El amor brujo» (The Bewitched Love) and was composed in 1915. With its fast trills and ornaments, the work is said to be inspired by Rimsky- Korsakov’s «Flight of the Bumblebee». De Falla himself made several arrangements of this movement for various instrumentations, among them a hugely popular piano rendition (1921).
