SOLOIST
Performing as a soloist gives me a great sense of fulfilment. Through a playful and imaginative approach to well-known repertoire, new compositions or own arrangements new connections are forged and a platform for presenting the euphonium to a wider audience is created.
ARRANGER
Arranging a piece of music for a different group of instruments means presenting it in a new tonal guise. Through this creative and inspiring process, numerous arrangements of Swiss folk songs for euphonium and for brass and wind band have been set to paper, a number of which have found their place in the standard repertoire of many bands in Switzerland.
COMPOSER
As a composer I write most of my pieces for a particular purpose. However, this does not mean that this functional music is less inspired, and among my works are a variety of solo pieces for brass instruments and concertante music for brass ensembles, brass and wind band. The « Brass Quartet No. 2 » with its very individual character belongs to the most original works of this type.
CONDUCTOR
To conduct means to have the most colourful and vivacious of all instruments at your disposal. To me it is one of the most demanding and at the same time fulfilling experiences ; working with many different people and their instruments to create and share common tone colours and to form and communicate musical ideas.
